I was granted a patent as co-inventor of “System and Method for Preparing a Pharmaceutical Compound”. This is my 12th (dozenth?) UX-related patent, and certainly one of the more complex ones.
Officially filed in 2015, the method combines information from an image verification system and a gravimetric verification system to ensure that a drug has been appropriately compounded.
In addition, the system displays both image information and gravimetric measurements obtained during drug preparation steps to a reviewing pharmacist in a clear and easily readable manner, such that the pharmacist can quickly approve or reject a particular drug preparation.
